Our Story
The founders of Vibix Learning met at APEX Academy in Los Angeles, California in the early 2000’s and soon realized they shared the same vision of creating innovative schools with Mental Wellness as a core component of their academic program. Despite criticisms and doubts about their “experiment,” they soon had 3 schools using their teaching/learning philosophy. The team spent the next decade documenting hundreds of cases of students’ success stories throughout secondary and post-secondary educational settings as a direct result of the implementation of their C3 Mental Wellness Model. In 2021, they founded Vibix Learning to expand their reach to a national level.

Alfonso Paz
Chief Executive Officer
Alfonso Paz has been supporting/helping underrepresented students and families in Los Angeles’s East Hollywood area to have greater opportunities and access to college and other post secondary options for close to 30 years. In his various capacities, he has been a teacher, counselor, and eventually as Co-Founder/Co-Executive Director of PazLo Education Foundation. He believes that while traditional schools can provide a foundation for positive change, it is the strong partnerships between families, schools, and communities that will actually provide a greater influence on the life of a student and prepare them to contribute to a united, stronger and healthier society.
Cesar Lopez
Chief Financial Office
Thought leader in learning, wellness and education with over 2 decades of extensive experience leading and developing innovative schools, learning systems and wellness-centered growth systems. Passionately serving at every level in education, as a teacher, coach, principal, director, and founder of charter schools, has exposed him to the many obstacles faced by families in poverty, and most vulnerable students in their pursuit of secondary and higher education opportunities. Lastly, his expertise extends beyond the traditional education sector and into human learning and relational wellness programs and systems.
Jeffrey Jacob
Chief Technology Officer
Jeffrey Jacob is an information technology veteran with over 21 years of experience. Mr. Jacob has served in a broad range of information technology roles, to include network engineering, programming, web development, and executive level information technology project management, and has served in those capacities within the healthcare, pharmaceutical sciences, aviation and education industries.
Dr. Andrés Paz
Chief Research Officer
After an accumulated 15 years of teaching and research experience in the US and in Costa Rica at the collegiate and secondary level, Andrés transitioned to the field of user experience (UX) research. His love for education, passion for all things research driven, and desire to improve the lives of our youth is on full display within Vibix Learning. Overall, his goal is to enable a more user friendly experience within the process of improving student’s Mental Wellness.
Outside of the fun-loving career at Vibix, Andres spends his time raising his children while fantasizing about the near future when they are old enough to learn how to surf. The sooner they learn, the sooner he gets back into the water!
Gloria Pineda
Director of Curriculum and Educational Content
Gloria Pineda is passionate about expanding school-based mental health access in all K-12 systems. Gloria joined Vibix Learning because they share her core values and commitment to Mental Wellness in elementary and secondary education. As an educational advocate, she welcomes the fact that Mental Wellness is finally becoming an essential part of a school’s function and curriculum.
Ms. Pineda was previously the National Network Director for Diploma Plus, a nationally recognized competency-based model, and an educational consultant in California, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.
Gloria is inspired daily by her family. When not at work, you can find Gloria shopping for hats or in her garden.
